I worked at XpresSpa full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Met good, honest people Learned a little about massage

Cons

Turnover in management position is very very fast. I had 3 managers and worked there 6 months. No bonuses No health benefits Very boring workplace Will refuse to pay you vacation time when you leave (have to make a civil claim for it). No employee loyalty Expect you to work like a soldier, stand in front of store, and get people to come in. Almost impossible sales goal for the GSC's (all GSC's are expected to sell the same amount regardless of store location or size) Very low commission and no pay raises. (I know a massage therapist with the company 8 years and still only makes a 30% commission. New folks are being hired at 20% at PHL airport THAT'S NOTHING!) Other massage places know the infamous XpresSpa as a "slavehouse" and to be honest it is! One of my coworkers had to leave for 2 months from developing a hand problem after being the only massage therapist for the closing shift for about 6 weeks.

Advice to Management

Make XpresSpa a better place to work. It is miserable!

    I have been working at XpresSpa full-time

    Pros

    cant think of any pros

    Cons

    Corporate doesnt send product when we need it. You go months with out product to do services. You dont get payed correctly for PTO. They will fire you if you dont say hi with in 1 second of someone entering the spa. They make you wear immataion chinese shirts, whenever a asian person comes in the comment on the shirt one saying to me that the shirts are disrespecfull. They will fire you of your a minute late for work. The owners and corporate never call to say thank you or your doing a great job. No one there feels like they are appreciated. Managment doesnt care about the employees. No benefits offered.

    Pros

    Good business concept. Nice products and service lineup. Nice looking product covers. Market can grow A good takeover target. Change in top management can mostly fix their issue.

    Cons

    Workplace humiliation like never seen before Highly uninspiring atmosphere. EXTREMELY HIGH TURNOVER! Senior management always tries to cover them. Overall disappointment.

    Advice to Management

    Unfortunately change of the original top management is needed to make this company with really good idea a true success story.
