Xyratex – “Lots of great talent, going nowhere fast”
Pros
Xyratex is full of a lot of really good, smart people. As a British company, they also start all staff with 4 weeks of vacation.
Cons
There's no direction. Most individual contributors report to managers in different offices or even different time zones. There is no communication or cooperation. More effort is spent playing the CYA game than anything else.
Advice to Senior Management
Set some priorities for the organization and give your staff the tools and direction they need to achieve their goals.
