Former Employee - Summer Counselor  in  Oklahoma City, OK
Former Employee - Summer Counselor in Oklahoma City, OK

    Pros

I worked at this particular YMCA as a camp counselor the summer of 2010. The facility is spectacular, in great condition and a convenient location. I enjoyed my time working with the fellow staff and had no HR issues while working there.

    Cons

I can't think of any cons other than the fact that I came into the summer camp a little later than the rest of the counselors so I didn't receive the same training that they did. I felt a bit out of the loop the whole summer but it was manageable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend just making sure that employees are adequately trained before they start the job, or shortly after they begin work. Taking initiative in that department would take the pressure off of the employee to speak up about that and make your programs run smoother.
