    Pros

Is a great experience and you can learn a lot from interacting with so many people. Lots of hours available if you are willing to take them.

    Cons

Not very organized, often seemed to be lacking a plan and scrambling to fill positions on any given day. Sometimes seems as if they were simply relying on the the lower level employees to simply wing it without much direction and a limited budget

    Advice to Management

Lay out the guidelines of what you are expecting better so you aren't forced to continually send out emails telling people they cannot do things.

  2. Its fun to work for with strong community feeling

    Pros

    -great for networking
    -strong community base
    -great to gain experience
    -great team work
    -great to meet new firends

    Cons

    -pay might not be great
    -dealing with rude members
    -hard to cover shifts
    -lack or communication
    -lack of leadership/mentoring

    Advice to Management

One thing that I learned while working for the YMCA is management needs to keep a open communication to their front line staff and to be open to suggestion from their front line staff. I also notice with the last YMCA that I was at there were lacking the true leader that will help grow their staff to what they want them to be.
