Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CA

I have been working at YMCA full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It is great being in a work place where many if not most of the employees are interested in helping others as well as the community as a whole. The position is also a great opportunity for someone looking to continue working in aquatics.

    Cons

Dealing with the YMCA's bureaucracy can often be tedious and time consuming. As a result of the bureaucracy man seemingly simple tasks can be slowed down by often unnecessary procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider running the Y more like a business and less like a cumbersome government bureaucracy.
