Pros

people are generally nice and prosocial, with the exception of a few of my male lifeguard coworkers. I worked at two locations, and both of my bosses were amazing.

Cons

the pay was not great. at one point I was teaching something upwards of six or seven swim lessons a day, and so became increasingly burnt out. the work was extremely emotionally draining, and I felt that I was expected to give and give but with nothing in return.

Advice to Management

please don't ask us to drive all the way to work just to teach a single swimming lesson. we lose money on this.

    Pros

They have a good retirement plan and some good people to work with.
I got the opportunity to work with our senior population in Chicago and it's an experience i will take with me throughout my life and future career

    Cons

not being paid a salary that reflects years of experience and/or educational level, there was no upward mobility within the company

  2. Good part-time job, but don't expect much from management.

    Pros

Flexible hours and decent pay. The people are friendly and lovely to work with, and most patrons are really nice too.

    Cons

Management tends to veer towards the slightly incompetent side, but given that it is usually a part-time or temporary job it is tolerable.

    Advice to Management

Be more discerning with the people that you choose to promote from within.
