Started off well but management made temporary changes which turned into permanent and made working unprofitable.

I worked at YMCA part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I was hired in with 10+ years of fitness experience. I accepted $15.00/hour for group fitness, 60% of charge to clients for personal training and free use of facility. Within 6 months new management was hired in and fired everyone who refused to take a "temporary" pay reduction to help the bottom line. After 5 years of employment I was still working for $10.00/hour group fitness, 40% for personal training and zero use of facility.

    Cons

As a privately owned business they thought much more of the bottom line than the employees or the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Happy employees help in making happy clients. Listen to the "workers" more and the CEO less.
