I have been working at YP full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There aren't any "pros" anymore...at least none that I can see. I guess if you're participating in the brown nosing highly political landscape then there might be pros - otherwise you're doomed.

    Cons

*Pay has been stagnant for years
    * No accountability for anyone - even management
    * Ineffective if not totally incompetent managers. Some were promoted through pure staff attrition and have about ZERO people / management skills
*PTO time was recently cut back
*Insurance benefits are awesome - if you plan on never getting sick

YP - you had such promise, you had time to right the ship and make a real impact in local but that ship has sailed. In a highly political environment the people who are smart and have great ideas are pushed aside or out the door because their managers see them as competition.
Vital functions like HR and payroll have been farmed out to ADP - so if there is a mistake you'll be talking to a person in India or the Virgin Islands to try and rectify it. Recently people have been flooding out the door literally faster than HR can get paychecks together (people gave notice and walked out without their final pay checks)..

I'm pretty sure Cerberus wants to milk all the revenue they can from this dying brand before they try to unload it on another buyer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Buy everyone in management seats the book "From Good to Great" and make them read it! Listen to the smart people on your teams and drop the power hungry, ego driven attitude.

  2.

Not stressful and good pay, but also not challenging.

I worked at YP full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Office, hours, free food, and employee events. Not a hard driving culture, so good for folks with family.

    Cons

Unclear strategy and changing priorities. Strategy seems to be better since the unit was sold to a private equity, but also much cost cutting and uncertainty now exist more than ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shed non-core businesses and get laser focused on the profitable areas of the company. Reduce the amount of initiatives and make things more simple so that teams can actually accomplish and succeed at an initiative.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
