Pros

- Top level view of the online space - great value addition
Apart from that, the scope of the work that you do, the exposure that you get both, within the org and outside of it, is invaluable. In the online space, there is no comparison to Yahoo! that gives you a complete overall picture of the market. The regular freebies, picnics and parties add to the fun. The free and open culture, as well as being in the company of some very intelligent people adds to the great times.

Cons

The downsides, though few, deserve an important mention here. As most of you know, Yahoo! is going through a tough transformational phase, so there is this inherent risk that is associated with a job with Yahoo (think job security and the "L" word). The good thing is though, that not all positions and profiles are at a similar risk. Again, the recent cost cutting measures rub some of the sheen from the workplace and work life, but I guess in these times, we just have to grin and bear it. Apart from that, some changes and redundancies take a lot of time to fix, but I guess with the new management in place, this would change as well.

Advice to Senior Management

Take tough decisions - but don't lose focus on making it a fun place for employees again.
