Pros

Awesome benefits- great place to start a career. Great people, happy employees.

Cons

Not easy to grow in a department- hard to be "promoted," but departments are so "set in ways" it is hard to for new positions to be created.

I worked at Yale University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits and reasonable work hours can make Yale a good place for employees with children.

    Cons

Yale is a difficult place for younger employees to excel and advance, since pay and promotions are tied more strongly to years of service than to performance. Pay overall lags behind private-sector jobs, and the university often takes a very long time to implement strategy changes.

I worked at Yale University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of interesting work opportunities. Opportunities for attending interesting talks. Nice people in my experience. Good benefits package once you get hired and competitive wages. A great place to start a career or gain experience.

    Cons

It might take some time to get hired. You might find after a while in the same job that you have to get more education or training or go elsewhere if you want to advance.
