Good Pay, Good benefits, but can be unstable and unfriendly if also pursuing education.

Former Employee - Assembler in Newnan, GA

I worked at Yamaha Motor

Pros

Decent pay of $14.11/hr. after 3 months of fulfilling reasonable "satisfactory" requirements. Training is usually very thorough and it is very rare to be "left in a lurch" though it does happen. Management is extremely communicative, often calling employee meetings to explain downtime (or overtime) and when work flow and hours are expected to be back to normal. Quarterly bonuses ranging from $200 to as much as much as $800.

Cons

As an assembly job it is very very monotonous. Depending on the area you are assigned to you may have very little to almost too much to do within the time limit (which was 2 minutes while I was employed). Moving to different areas during the first few months was far too often for my taste, though this may be a pro to some. Hours can be shaky, over time can be excessive at times (58 hours per week is usually the absolute maximum). Actual employment has been unstable (as of 2009), with only 4 months worked out of 6. Temporary unemployment is given.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Requested reasonable changes from employees regarding their workstation could happen more quickly, as this can be critical in comfort, safety, and work flow efficiency. Communication regarding vacation time left and attendance/performance could be more forthcoming.

I have been working at Yamaha Motor full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This company allows you to express your creativity in a very dynamic working challenge. They empower you with a quite sufficient capital to explore with, and let you learn from the mistakes you made. It is very ideal for those who loves challenge and like to explore endless possibility. It is like a laboratory where you can do a lot of innovative experiments by getting paid.

    Cons

Dynamically environment in marketing area makes the work process almost rapid and change time by time. It is almost impossible to find a solution by applying same approach. Every case should be solved tailor made, case by case. This often makes you spent much energy in the working place than your own personal life, makes work-life balance quite not ideal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should be brave to make Quick Decision and consistent with that. Do not easily change decision without comprehensive evaluation of total process. Should develop employee regeneration mechanism to preserve the senior management knowledge.
