I worked at Year Up as a contractor for more than a year

Pros

The staff were committed to the mission, personal development opportunities are good

Cons

A lot of time is dedicated to the learning community, which puts a strain on staff

Work on balancing time

    Pros

    A lot of opportunities to participate in ad hoc projects.

    Cons

    Inexperienced management staff led to negative experiences and glass ceiling. Favoritism among staff members was obvious.

    Train up your managers and create a fair leadership development program.
