Former Employee - Media Account Consultant in Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I worked at Yellow Pages Group (more than an year)

Pros

Best training - comp plan not bad, depending on sales channel

Cons

Slave to the numbers, due to the revolving door of hires, reps push through the sale, and do a lousy job of customer service, renewals were low. Mediative should have existed 10 years.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Idiot middle managers - great sales people aren't exactly great managers

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Yellow Pages Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice people in the company, If you are motivated you can make good money in sales.
It's a good place to start your career, there are a lots of opportunities because of older Consultant who are leaving the company.

    Cons

You spend more time doing anything else than selling, there is almost no support for the sales so you half of your time you're doing service to customer.
Really a big problem to deliver what we promise to the customer without out problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the manager are in this company for too long, they're still stuck in the past when the company were selling some print ads... Please renew the manager as you do for the sales team..
