I worked at Yoh full-time

Pros

- flat organization, good exposure
- financially sound, decades old, family run (stable)
- base salaries good (comp plan average at best)

Cons

- parent company strong arms the Yoh division (parent's financial performance dictates what Yoh Staffing does)
- all back office processes are 10-15 years behind the times
- recently updated ATS but it still doesn't integrate with mandated SAP systems
- paper forms and emails dominate
- minimal opportunity to advance
- no real strategy/vision, management is reactive

Advice to ManagementAdvice

- hire external consultant(s) to tell what you need to hear/is broke vs. what you want to hear

Personally, I agree that the people at Yoh really are smart and talented and every company has challenges with processes. However, the thing I like about Yoh is that we are empowered to come up with ... More

I have been working at Yoh full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Paid on time
HR goup is helpful most of time.
    Vacation roll over
Lower level employees try their best to work together as a team

    Cons

    HIgh benefits
Management does not know what employee responsibilities are on projects. Only feedback is when something is negative. Upper management is not qualified to handle issues because they have no experience in what you do. They have never worked in your capacity before so cannot begin to understand day to day challenges. Although you try to communicate with them, its blown off and long as the "client" is happy.
Your work performance is not appreciated. It is never enough. You are never praised for the things you help to achieve to make Yoh look good but you are berated when the client has an issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep in mind that your employees work for your at your client sites. Listen and understand thier perspective because they are your voice. The client is not always right. Hire people in your upper management roles that understand the roles that they are in and can support your internal employees and have the werewithal to push back on the client when appropriate and necessary. Get your head out of the sand. I have seen great employees leave this company due to the poor leadership that remains.
