York Regional Police Employee Review

I have been working at York Regional Police

Pros – Good benefits and a good salary.Satisfaction of helping the public in their time of need.The feeling of making the world a better place.

Cons – Lack of respect for older workers that have built this organization.The Executive Command Team wants to promote younger workers that are not ready for promotion.The push is to promote women and ethnic minorities that are not ready and do not have the skills.They then have the older workers train them and back them up.This causes nothing but grief for the older supervisors training these people and lack of respect .I feel the chief should always be brought in from another law enforcement organization as he carries no baggage with him and brings in fresh ideas.

Advice to Senior Management – Respect your older workers that have built this organization.In time younger workers and minorities will be at that level of competence and thats when you should be promoting them.The employee evaluation system is flawed and needs to be re written.At this point in time the evaluation system is worthless as the Chief makes the final decision on promotion.
