its all politics

Los Angeles, CA

Current Employee – been working at Young's Market

Prosits an interesting job you get to learn about wine, you get a lot of free bottles, for the most part you are left alone and get to manage your own time so theres a lot of freedom. they don't GPS you like other companies do. and i hate to say this, but if your a woman...numbers are a little better because you are mainly selling to men.

Conswhere to start. if you're a morning person this job is for you. 5am start times get old real fast. you have to lift a lot and deal with a bunch of liquor managers who are on power trips. so you have to be patient and always smiling. they gave a management position to a guy with no management skills and a guy because his daddy is a VP in the company. so it doesn't matter how good you are at your job, how many sales awards you've received its all politics so if you want a company where you can move up in, look elsewhere. its also a cheap company that doesn't seem to care about their employees very much. they recently cut way back on healthcare.

Advice to Senior Managementsell the Co.
