I have been working at ZS Associates

Pros

Excellent opportunities for growth, personal development and project and client ownership
Good training provision
Strong performance management structure that sets clear expectations and development goals
Good company values, friendly people, collaborative culture
Company is growing rapidly and it is an exciting time to be involved

Cons

Can be difficult to maintain a work-life balance
Staffing model does not always work as it should, and can result in some people being given too much to do across too many projects, while others have time on their hands

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some people promoted into senior positions behave as if they have "made it" and work juniors like slaves while putting in minimal effort themselves - this should be clamped down on to maintain morale
Learn to say no to clients who want small projects done in unreasonable time frames for bargain basement prices

I have been working at ZS Associates

    Pros

Constant growth creates great opportunities for people.
Lots of knowledge sharing and support for innovation.
Great people & collegial culture where everyone helps each other. There really are no politics
Travel model makes work-life balance possible. It's generally not a 4 days on the road/1 day at home job. Clients are located near the offices, so travel is typically quite limited, so you can have a life at home.
Work actually gets implemented, so you feel like your work matters
People are humble. No big egos like you often see in the big strategy firms.

    Cons

Standard downsides of consulting: unpredictable hours, some clients quite demanding, experience probably varies considerably depending upon the teams/people you work with.
People development / coaching could be better
