Great company to work for but spread too thin

Pros

The company has a very good benefits and health insurance program. The company believes in technical innovation that benefits our customers, even though there's no guaranteed ROI for the investments.

Cons

A lot of departments are spread too thin, barely a skeleton crew. A lot of the staff is overworked and underpaid, when comparing salaries with other companies.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer fair compensation to employees, such as bonus programs when accomplishing goals and missions. Stop giving preferential treatment towards certain employees by giving them opportunities to grow when there are others who may qualify.

    Pros

Co-workers are generally supportive and quite knowledgeable.
Upper management, for the most part, realizes video interpreters are not just machines.

    Cons

Little to no advancement is available.
Because it is a smaller company, the opportunities for workshops and such are minimal at best.

  2.

    Pleasant experience but modest compensation

    Pros

It's a progressive environment with a positive purpose- just a good vibe- not too much conflict. Collaborative. Benefits are solid. Employees are mostly pleasant and welcoming . Good work-life balance.

    Cons

Compensation was adequate, but raises are infrequent. Industry is funded by Telecommunications Taxes and constantly under revenue pressures, Also, many employees are conflicted between role as an advocate for the deaf community and as an employee of a for-profit company that services the deaf.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I liked management in general- although a bit too reliant on style over substance (but this is somewhat typical) in sales oriented environments.
