Company that is going places, where you work with genius minds, and communication is an issue

Prosbleeding edge technology
wide variety of technologies - you will learn alot, grow professionally
super smart co-workers - genius smart
work with big-name clients and their senior people
people know your company name
decent work-life balance
high-growth company
choose your equipment
amazingly flexible and useful product
founder architected product with amazing foresight
casual / lax dress code and atmosphere
learn about how successful start-ups work
executive to admin to technical to sales ratio seems off kilter, but when I compared to other similar companies, its normal; actually, we now have a smallish amt of executives comparatively
see how excellent software is engineered
smart technologies are used internally and eat our own dogfood

Conscommunication amongst departments and from executives is horrendous, despite being addressed at meetings
focus shift from open-source and doing good, to money and selling the company
the above fact has lead to a fundamental moral drop amongst technical employees
no longer room for internal growth within company; they hire out to get a person with high experience in the position and not necessarily the product and market; why not promote from within?
certain groups of employees/dept's are ignored, while others get all attention
middle management not always effectively managed or dealt-with by senior management
senior management is very buddy buddy and keeps information and vision within their circle
new hiring is mysterious in certain circles, and some are buddies or ex-workmates
technical sides of the company and marketing/sales do not cohesively work together
management team changes direction and doesn't explain why, or even what it was they were looking into
true innovation does not occur except by select few rockstars in spare time; new features and support for new cool technologies are abound, but finding new solutions in the field is no longer done
most employees have no idea what goes on behind board meeting doors, let alone met the board members
CTO/founder has left the building and no replacement in sight
company shift from annapolis to austin is effectively complete (good for austin)

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good stuff: awesome bleeding edge technology, open source atmosphere, completing amazing name-brand sales, and hiring very smart technical minds.
Work on: Communicate, communicate, communicate. Senior management should send out a monthly status update of the biggest deals, coolest CEOs talked to, neatest tech integration possibilities, latest vision thoughts, meeting outcomes, etc. Dont be afraid that you are putting it in stone - your not if you explain changes. Each department should communicate formally and on a regular basis.
Product management should systematically focus on existing/potential customers, and employ transparent decision processes. Even the community should see how we make these decisions.
Allow the community to have deeper access and more penetration into the product and company. Pass more power down the hierarchy. Hire from within, even if they have limited experience in the needed position.
