I have been working at Zipcar full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Teams are very well organized
Everyone is very competent and cooperative
Fun, welcoming, collegial working environment
There is a cultural openness to learning new skills and using them

Cons

No technical leadership to speak of
Salaries are on the low end for the industry/region
Avis (the parent company) HR department is extremely slow/unresponsive
Management structure makes it difficult to advance your career

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire extremely qualified technologists into senior leadership positions, find a way to get out from under Avis bureaucracy.

    Great discount on rental rates, flexible hours, easy service to sell

    Cons

    Negative and hard to approach marketing team, employees seem to abide by fear, everyone employee seems to be looking for another job (including management)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be open to feedback, transparency goes a long way between employees, product is very easy to sell because its a great idea! Try to encourage your employees to grow within the company. Zipcar is a fun brand- I don't understand how this office seems to be so negative and lacking growth for employees
