Zones Purchasing Operations in Auburn, WA:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

Overall one of the best reasons you could find in working at Zones is the friendship you develop with co-workers. Location also was a plus in being a quick commute.

Cons

One of the most noticeable downsides at Zones is the overall climate that is portrayed. There is a very churn and burn mentality among certain departments that really hurts overall moral. The company as a whole seems to be an out of school first job employer with the average person being there less than 3 years. You would constantly see or hear of people leaving or being let go. Benefits and perks are poor and or if any. Sales relay heavy on vendor incentives in making a paycheck but don't be surprised if someone else has their hands on your take home pay.

Advice to Senior Management

The advice I would give to senior management is start looking at retaining people that can get the company on par with its competition. Second make the company a place that people want to work for and not just a space on a resume. There was a huge moral problem in people wanting to leave.
