Zurich Financial Services – “Working Here Can Be...Difficult”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
Zurich Alternative Asset Management, the division I worked for (I cannot necessarily speak to the rest of the company) has a matching 401k program and provides compensated time off via personal time, meaning days can be used for sick or vacation time. The HealthFirst program run via the benefits department is valuable and actually financially rewarding. The small setting within a big company provides intimacy and promotes closer working relationships between employees.
Cons
Horrible management, due mainly to total lack of communication between staff and management. ZAAM unfortunately employs sexist hiring and compensation practices, with women making considerably less money than men in similarly titled positions. There is no opportunity for feedback between employees and managers or between employees and Zurich at large.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to actually act as managers of people, rather than as stewards of a pile of money you want to keep for yourself. At least pretend that you have a tiny bit of concern for your employees.
