    I have been working at Zurich North America full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good people and a friendly atmosphere, flexibility in work hours and location, compensation adequate, nice bonus program, good work / life balance.

    Cons

    Upper management well detached from reality of what goes on in the field. IT is a nightmare. Sysytems do not communicate with each other and new systems are worse than the old ones.

    Get a clue on what is really important.

    I have been working at Zurich North America full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Zurich is a large global organization with very good brand recognition. This company is easy to get in but negotiate well as salary increases are 3%. Bonus program is fair to middle compared to other companies. Headquarter management is focused on the business.

    Cons

    American upper management conseives new strategies frequently with good intentions but middle and lower management struggle to understand implementation. Lower level only sees requirements to cut expenses this year and then next year increase productivity . Workload was never below 130%. Select few may win favoritisim but most just happy to be employed. Put5 and get everything in writing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Decide on a strategy and stick to it. Same for programs and databases. Monitor middle and lower management and encourage feedback from all employees. Seek out employees with potential before other companies do. Improve and expand training to be competitive with peers.
