Pros

Moving up the ladder is very possible.

Cons

Constant change means, even if you move up the ladder, you constantly traverse uneven terrain. You direction will be "pivoted" at a moment's notice. This means what you've been working on gets tossed aside in favor of the latest flavor of the month.

Advice to Management

Pick a direction and stick to it. You're no longer a 50 employee studio. Rapid change at your size is a cancer.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Beautiful facility. Great co-workers. Great salary.

    Cons

Upper management is often confused and top heavy. Listening isn't their strong suit. Terrible advancement policy (or rather lack of one. Basically you need to kiss the right tail in order to grow) Company is entirely focused on copying exhausting games and less on taking risk and truly finding out the things that make games fun.

    Advice to Management

Start having one on one sessions with lower staff. Ask them questions instead of talking at them. Listen. Foster creative environment by making smaller teams who experiment and innovate instead of investing big money in larger games and then canceling them when they do poorly.

Employees treated great - but no vision and all talk of innovation is just noise

I worked at Zynga full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Catered meals every day, great benefits, decent pay, good creative people with a lot of talent, good workstations, not too much crunch

    Cons

most good ideas are ignored, high turnover, company says it needs to innovate yet it slams the door in the face of any actual unproven innovation. The company seems to like the buzz words but not the actual meaning behind any of them.

    Advice to Management

You can talk the talk, but you don't seem to have any one in charge who actually is willing to walk the walk. Figure out who is stifling the innovation and get rid of them.
