Pros

Company empowers employees to manage their areas completely.
Lots of guidance and training to help you succeed.
Very innovative products and exciting clients worldwide.

Cons

Need to hire better senior management. Many miss steps in CA have led to high turnover and bad morale.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a stock option scheme for the employees outside the UK.

I have been working at e2v full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is a supplier to important agencies like ESA and NASA. As a result, you can work on fantastic projects (i.e. Gaia, Rosetta). Although challenging at times, you are surrounded by bright and competent colleagues. The work environment is friendly and the company offers lots of potential.

    Cons

Unfortunately the company is badly managed, to levels very close to incompetence. Politics rules, work integrity is questionable and bright people are not heard. Salaries are below market rate, which the company tries to offset with perks and the lure of working on fantastic projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have seen the SLT formed and reformed many times and in many formats, but always with the same people, just in different positions. You need fresh, competent, brighter and above all true leaders. The company offers a lots, but I am really concern with the quality/skills of the current team

I have been working at e2v full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Some very good employees, both loyal in service and very highly skilled - being the main reasons this company has done so well.
Pension scheme matches your contributions up to 6% of salary.
Full sick pay, 25 days holiday, generally flexible with working hours, free parking.

    Cons

Very little incentive for self-improvement; many employees gain a huge amount of knowledge and skills and work very hard to support the company yet see their wages stagnate, often resulting in more dynamic staff leaving along with their skills.
This also creates a situation where those with little ambition who simply want to 'tick over' in an undemanding job role for a mediocre salary stay for years.
Company is very diverse in its product lines but has a culture where each engineering/manufacturing section seems like a separate company to all the others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The financial rewards for the highly skilled, loyal and dedicated staff that keep this company must be improved - they are being taken for granted!
