Current Employee - Manager in Hong Kong (Hong Kong)
Current Employee - Manager in Hong Kong (Hong Kong)

I have been working at emarsys full-time

Pros

The people here are generally young and fun to work with, the country manager is doing a great job of leading the team, being a very hands-on guy and caring for the staff as individuals and not merely employees.

The work is challenging and engaging and you're bound to be exposed to a lot of different tasks. This means you need to work on things beyond your scope of duties (which is normal if they expect you to develop your career). They are clear with their KPIs and what they expect from you. You need to work hard to try to meet those goals.

Cons

Salaries might not be the highest in the market and you do need to meet quite demanding KPIs to prove good performance. They are also quite clear that if you do not live up to their expectations, they will fire you or you'll feel enough pressure that you'll leave of your own accord

Advice to ManagementAdvice

KPIs are good but need to be realistic and achievable, the volume of work can also be very overwhelming at times.

Former Employee - Key Account Manager in Moscow (Russia)

I worked at emarsys full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - No strict control, you have a lot of freedom of action and this doesn't affect the effectiveness of the company
    - No brainwashing during the hiring process and zillion of checks - just a conversation (or 2-3) with the current employees
    - Very nice people in the company, positive and super friendly
    - Fast growing business, more benefits every year
    - Management is down to earth, you can discuss your concerns directly and get mentorship for career progress
    - Constant professional education
    - Who loves to travel - annual meetings in Vienna and regular flights for trainings and client visits
    - One of the best health insurance plans and you're supplied with laptops, phones and everything you need for work
    - Office location and the office itself

    Cons

    - Our young office was lacking some of the benefits at the beginning like gym membership
    - No catering services

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more benefits for employees, including equity options.

Former Employee - Technical Writer in Vienna (Austria)

I worked at emarsys full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Creative and fast-moving environment, lots of personal freedom, great team

    Cons

Top-down and bottom-up communication sucks. Despite company values being (amongst others) "professionalism", processes and procedures are sometimes Kindergarden level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow the insights from employee satisfaction form - install clear targets and procedures, then leave this team/department alone do their job. You hire professionals, they will know what to do.
