I worked at focus pointe global part-time for less than a year

Pros

Very easy going environment, the hours are flexible, simple tasks, with many opportunities to gain personal skills. This is a great opportunity for full-time and part-time students.

Cons

Little instruction given on a weekly and daily basis, very vague instructions for the overall term, and can be boring at times.

I have been working at focus pointe global part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company seems to be in a period of expansion, which is exciting for everyone except recruiters/QCC/QCA. Most of the Directors are pretty decent people, the executive team seem smart and with a solid vision of expansion and growth. Time will tell if the vision is realized, I guess.

    Cons

Being a recruiter is the pits no matter where you are, unfortunately. Compensation isn't great. The workplace itself is very stale. Not a whole lot of young people to spruce up the environment in the place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the pay for recruiters! Bring in some young talent on the corporate/executive side. Also, the Project Managers all seem extremely overworked all the time...

Asking for a raise will get you laughed at, no opps for growth

I worked at focus pointe global part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You'll get plenty of free catering after clients are served. The location is nice in downtown Chicago. Scheduling can be flexible if you have kids or are in school, but that is a double edged sword. Schedules are emailed out the Friday as a new week starts, leaving little room to schedule appointments.

    Cons

Promotions are laughed at- some employees worked there for 2+ years and didn't get overtime, bonuses or promotions- even for jobs well done you got a pat on the back. Several employees were laughed out of the office when asking for a review and raise after 1 year. If you're a part time employee, expect to be worked for long shifts and treated like you're expendable. Also expect a rotating door of managers and directors. You get treated like a waitress but without the tips- expect to do a lot of grunt work for clients, fetching coffee and serving up their dinners...again, with no tips and no perks for going above and beyond for a brand/client that stops in the facility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't ask for exemplary service if you're not willing to reward employees for working overtime, running out for Starbucks in the snow, and asking them to work sporadic hours at the last minute.
