I have been working at hhgregg full-time for more than a year

Pros

You can make money if the customers come in but lately not a whole lot there. You can move up if you can take the hours.

Cons

Your life/work balance is not there all there way. Management tends to play favorites. They want you to sell a product but not train you on it. To learn how to do it (activate a cellphone) you must split the sale with another employee that knows how to do it. So in other words you must pay someone to to sell the product.

I have been working at hhgregg full-time for more than a year

    Pros

employee discounts are fair. You receive health benefits and vacation pay even though you are straight commission.

    Cons

long hours. I have seen people scheduled for back to back 12 hour days. During holiday season you work six days a week unnecessarily. Black Friday they will work you over 12 hours straight or longer with no breaks and won't let you leave. They always talk about opportunity for advancement but always bring management in from outside. Once you work there and you see how many hours management works per week you really decide not become a manager. Managers always tell the sales reps that the reps make more money than them if you work in a smaller market. Major turnover, I see an average of 1 to 1.5 employees leave a month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Long shifts of over 8 hours are unproductive. Once a rep has been working over 8 hours he or she is not motivated any longer to be there and just is thinking of going home. You guys do not pay much attention to the human aspects/moral of your employees. It comes accross as you only care about the bottom line.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
