Pros

Exciting to have opened the Chicago market. If the proposed culture of education and customer care was a reality, this would be a great place to work.

Cons

Management spends the majority of time dealing with disgruntled customer issues, many of which stem from problems caused by third party delivery teams. No incentive to improve. Plus if, in order to make the customer happy, management offers a $50 discount, the discount hits the original slaespersons's commission. Even though the delivery team created the issue. POS system is outdated Management turnover creates chaos Employee turnover is high Claims about "best educated sales force in the industry" makes me shudder for the industry A culture of discounting in order to sell service plans Straight commission against draw encourages the selling or "packing" of service plans in order to make a decent wage

Advice to Management

Go back to basics. Train your employees. Set the rules. Invest in technology and delivery. Treat your employees as people instead of cogs.

    Nice coworkers, good employee discount

    Cons

    Bad managers, no growth, no customers

    Advice to Management

    Get some customers in the stores, hire managers who know what they are doing

    Pros

    Learning about the products, getting used to a fast paced big box environment, finding out ways to deal with snakes and jackasses.

    Cons

    Finding out ways to deal with snakes,sneaks and jackasses,managers knocking down prices to move product and it hits salesperson in the wallet, no support from others because you're new,managers and some workers try to trick you into illegalities, full commision, no training pay really. Some "thieves" were let go while others continue there. The POS is outdated and clunky. Too many steps and too much time just to ring out a customer. Workers text on the floor alot too. Thats a peeve I wouldn't want to pet.

    Advice to Management

    One manager was paasive the other aggressive. My advice is to do yourselves and the store a favor and resign. Stop trying to "trick" workers into illegal things just to see if the're smart enough to be there. be more understanding of the newbies' trip ups and mistakes, big box if new to it takes some getting used to.
