Pros

YB has something that biz's need, a way to advertise. So the product is there. The materials you need to succeed are there. The support you need is there. The incentetives are there, The benefits are there. You just need to bring your " I'm won't settle like most nine to fivers" attitude and you'll be the one your friends hate!

Cons

Advertising is the first thing businesses cut when biz is bad or economy is bad. You really have to put yourself in position to counter these times.

Advice to Management

Find someone who is successful and shadow them. However make sure you don't cut corners. If the training manual say "xyz" just do it that way. Shadow your successful collegue's effort but stick to the company's training and follow it to the T.

    Pros

Nice cafeteria, lots of attractive females, clean, excellent price of soda in the vending machine, flat screen monitors were nice!

    Cons

You spend your days calling business owners who have been called at least 5 other times that week from other yellow pages directories. You get hung up on, swore at, and cussed out. If that sounds like fun, go for it!

    Advice to Management

1 hour is not sufficient time for a potential employee to "get a feel for what it's like to work at yellowbook"

  2. Treated with respect and work with a good bunch of people

    Pros

Training is bar none the best in sales ! Managers treat you fairly once you prove yourself to them. Overall a fari place to work, beneftis are good stock program, etc...

    Cons

Your on a sinking ship with a product that may not exist in a couple of years. Generally your customers hate you and the product. You build relationships with people, they get few if any results. and the company is quick to sue's them. Not Classy! Goals are unattainable. Salary is just base, you[ll never see the commission they promise you.

    Advice to Management

Overall I thought the management was pretty good, compared to what we know now from Wall Street yellowbook is not that bad a company.
