    I worked at i3 Research

    Pros

Some of the people, depending on department are great to work with. Well compensated. Good bonus structure but doled out at the whim of manager. Backed by UHG so it seems pretty solid and not likely to be sold or taken over. Excellent vacation time but usually not able to use it. CEO is a really personable guy and friendly for such a large company

    Cons

Departments and divisions work in silos. There is no teamwork. People are expected to work 24/7, even working on vacation. Poor benefits even though company is owned by the largest healthcare insurance provider! Division was run by the UK and was totally UK centric - all promotions and recognition went to the international staff and the US were completely ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in building teamwork in the organization. Encourage and facilitate employee leave time to avoid burnout.

I have been working at i3 Research

    Pros

i3 is a 2nd tier CRO fighting to make it in a very competitive business. They a subsidiary of Ingenix and United Health Group which are both well run and treat their employees well. Work/life balance is respected and many people work from home offices. They are up on all of the latest technology to maximize efficient work. Salaries are on par with the industry.

    Cons

The main downside is that there are limited opportunities for advancement. However, they provide ample opportunities for professional development, and you are likely to find a higher position very easily at a different company after a few years at i3 with all of the new skills you acquire, and that's not a bad thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication about changes to the company has been excellent. Keep it up! Also, don't be afraid to continue to experiment and innovate, as long as you let people know what is going on.
