Pros

-Visibility (your work counts and is seen)
-Company growth opportunity (company is looking to expand)
-Financial stability
-Training/certification programs
-Nice facility & location (heart of Tysons Corner)

Cons

iCore's corporate culture is not for everyone.

I listed "visibility" as a pro but it can be a "con" for others. You have to be accountable for your work and cannot let anything slip. There is never a slow moment at iCore, so you always have to be prepared (have reports ready, be quick to answer questions).

Again..iCore is not for everyone. If you want a 9-5 job, iCore is not for you. You have to be willing to work until the job is done. It is good because top performers are heavily rewarded but bad if you just want to do bare minimum.

    Pros

Culture – strong first impression – company has several noteworthy accolades, nice office, and a competitive, fast-paced work environment
-Most employees are young, fun, hard working and ambitious, and most managers work hard too
-Mandatory ‘be here for a career’ mentality attracts impressionable and dedicated employees
-The upgraded espresso machine helps pepper the step!

Technology – emerging market over the next twenty years
-marketing strategy for hosted voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) as voice-over-private-internet (VoPI)

    Cons

Culture – demands 10-12+ hour work days (across all departments)
    -No work/life balance
-Low employee morale and high turnover/burnout
-Employment/promotion fill shoes, rather than through organic growth
    -Supported by shady outsourced recruiters

Leadership – takes advantage of young and impressionable employees
    -Executive Micromanagement
-Middle management lacks vision, experience and training

There is a general lack of trust between management and employees/departments

Technology – there is surprisingly low customer satisfaction overall, but that is an industry-wide problem

    Advice to Management

It was often said at iCore that, "there is no 'I' in TEAM, but there is an 'I' in WIN!" to motivate employees to work hard to achieve greatness...

-Be straightforward with your core objectives or at least be accountable for what you say
-Do not work your people in to the ground and then present them with an option to resign or be fired
-Respect your ‘manageable and impressionable’ career-oriented employees who are committed to work for you

Entry level at best, bad compensation for outside sales, work way too hard for way too little money, horrible management

    Pros

Nice office, but doesn't matter to outside sales people. There is a deli in the building, that is about all the "pro's" for this company. Free parking too, WOW! (sarcasm).

    Cons

As an outside sales person, there is little compensation for car, cell, or other expenses. Base salary is low. Not only that, company fights sales people to pay owed commissions, while employed and also after you eventually quit. The management is the worst micromanaging bunch that I have ever been associated with. It is seldom that anyone stays over 1 year at this company, high turnover, no career opportunities, although they preach it! They will run their sales people in to the ground, and then hire another to replace. CEO believe's that people are replaceable and does not care about the employee's well being.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and pay them what they are owed. People are not "replaceable", but a valuable assett to your organization.
