Pros

Salary is ok, it's close to home.

Cons

No work life balance - no working from home, no vacations from November through the end of January, poor communication, bad benefits, people leaving faster than they can replace them, poor conduct by management, lack of vision. It's really a pretty bad place to work. I am actively seeking job opportunities outside the company. they hounds you for donations to their pet charities and they are cheap.

Advice to Management

Don't be so cheap, have a clear vision, treat your employees right, allow them to work from home and quit hounding folks to make $700 donations to the United Way!

    Pros

There are a fair number of vacation days, and half days on Friday during the summer.

    Cons

There is no career path for those in the tech field, only for management. Also any sort of training for tech jobs are sorely lacking. People who want to move up have no path to do so, as skill development is insubstantial In most cases it has only been trial by fire where a person is put in a new position, with little tangible support from management. Consultants are far too heavily relied upon, and stay for years instead of months or weeks.

    Advice to Management

Read a book on how to run a tech company/department well. You need it.
