Pros

I have a better work life balance here and benefits are okay.

Cons

Rue 21 has very old operating systems as far as the POS system goes. Really need to upgrade there technology. The assistant basically does all the work. From operations to everything visually.

  1. Managers seem completely ignorant of everything aside from quotas.

    Pros

Stable hours every week, independent work.

    Cons

    Minimum wage, horrible management, etc.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking at arbitrary quotas and learn what the actual work is like.

  2. It was a nice place to work, until they wanted you to spend money there.

    Pros

Nice people, you get discounts on clothes. The management was good. Very easy to work with and for. The work isn't hard, you just have to fold clothes, work a register and be helpful to customers.

    Cons

I understand companies like Rue to want their employees to wear their clothing. But they expect you to spend so much money there it's ridiculous. The hours a week aren't that good. There was a time while I was there that every associate was getting between four to ten hours a week for a few months. So few hours with them wanting you to spend so much money was just not worth it.

    Advice to Management

Have better hours, and don't expect your employees to spend their entire paycheck on your clothing.
