Pros
Fast paced, a ton of room to grow
Cons
too much change in ownership
Advice to Senior Management
Great job
Pros
the people are fantastic to work with. Co-workers are smart and creative. I have had a lot of opportunity to grow by learning new things and holding various positions. Senior management listens to issues that are brought to their attention.
Cons
The company is in a growth phase. It is not sure if it is a small company or a large company. This means that some of the infrastructure is not in place like a large IT organization, etc. On the flip side, there are multiple layers of management, which is needed to grow, so at times the company acts larger than it is.
Advice to Senior Management
The employee base is made up of a distinct groups. Those that have been there for a long time, the ones that came from in acquisition, and the ones that came on board because of management. Try to understand how each group feels and take advantage of all of their experiences.
Pros
The compamy has good products in its domain and a good customer base giving employees the opportunities to work on some good stuff.
Cons
ETI has very inefficient and egoistic HR management which blocks the progress of everyone at the site and causes serious dissatisfaction. Until this is changed, this place cannot make any progress.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to employee concerns instead of neglect and denial. It may be too late some day and all the money spent on the fascility would go waste in the absence of HR that cares about employees.
Pros
1] Nice management and good work culture
2] Good work life balance
Cons
1] Less opportunities for technical development for developers.
2] Office location
Pros
Good pay
Growing client base
Good people
Cons
Underinvestment in acquisitions
Non-competitive in VMS space
Increasing sales demands with decreasing development investment
Lack of integrated messaging and product offerings
Poor to non-existent relationships with MSP partners
Advice to Senior Management
Sell Services Procurement, or put some serious $$ into it to make it the next Fieldglass. Offer a Managed Services Program for program implementation, training, and management
Pros
Good opportunities.
Good and knowlegable collegues.
Cons
No process.
Startup mind still.
They will allow you to just do bug fix all the time.
Not much of development work.
No proper tools to do development
Advice to Senior Management
Pls dont cheat saying we will file GC
Pros
- Sense of ownership and related responsibility
- Opportunity to learn and experiment
- Good working culture
- Good work-life balance
Cons
- Office location is not in a typical IT office location (say Hinjewadi, Kharadi...)
- The Pune IT park where the office is located does not have many facilities
Advice to Senior Management
Overall leadership is doing a good job with running the company. Each product however runs in its own silo. If we can get the product teams to work together, things would turn out to be even better.
Pros
Avner is no longer involved in every itty bitty little detail.
Cons
Laid Off after only three months on the job with good performance.
Advice to Senior Management
I think Emptoris management is headed in the right direction. Leadership was actually quite good accept for the former founder. I have to give it an overall 3.
Pros
Product Suite
SAAS offering
Good development plans for new Account execs and new to software companies
fun culture for staff at the HQ office
Cons
revolving door in executive suite is confusing, whos on first?
growth strategy is maybe the next aquisition will put us on the map
Advice to Senior Management
come up with a way to innovate around what we have and make the systems work together so it looks like one product. Also why does this ask for a rating on Avner Schneur? Isn't he long gone?
Pros
Each group at Emptoris is large enough to take on compelling projects with major clients but small enough to retain a cooperative team feeling.
Cons
Because each team is tight-knit, there is often tension when intra team cooperation is required. This may require additional patience but is no more than is probably experienced at other companies of the same size.
Advice to Senior Management
Emptoris has great employees. More of an investment should be made in advancing their capabilities through formal education and training.
