    Pros

    Software
    Convenient Hardware (Tablets)
Nothing else literally wasting space to meeting the 20 word minimum.

    Cons

Pay sounds fair until enrolling for benefits and getting the shock of next to no company contribution. Factor this in, and I took a HUGE paycut coming to this company. Thankfully my spouse's employer has excellent benefits or I would have been looking for employment elsewhere immediately.
The employee handbook is another story in itself.....short staffed most of the time makes taking PDO/PTO difficult and after burning out and giving notice any (likely all) PDO is forfeited. Doesn't sound like employees are valued at all....Encompass is a revolving door. Only work here if your desperate and just need to get by definitely not a place to try to make a career. Be wary of stellar peachy reviews coming from corporate recruiters, honestly I would give them a 2-2.5 star review with 1.5 stars for their technology, and .5 stars salaries being on par (count benefits though and Encompass pays considerable less than top competitors).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully with the merger coming someone seriously considers offering better benefits or expect turn over to remain high. Most staff have college degrees, spouses, and families to support, which is hard to do with over $550/month in health insurance premiums and that doesn't include copays, deductibles, and co-insurance.

Outlook for company is negative even considering merger (which never go perfectly and expect to see growing pains). Outlook for CEO terrible seriously what self respecting person puts their name or face on a benefits package like this????? Not to mention some policies legality is questionable especially when looking at individual states laws.

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They do offer a really good training program. You also get 30 days (PDO) from the beginning. They also have a "Specialty Rep" program.

    Cons

Pay is on the low side for the industry. HIGH turnover. Of the 5 people that started on the same day, only one is still there. And that is just in Houston!!!

Good luck with that 30 PDO mentioned in Pros. The second you turn in your 2 week notice, or get put on probation, or they let you go you lose it all.

Also beware of the "Specialty Rep" program. This means that as a new hire you can't call on Orthopediics, Cariovascular, Assisted Living, etc. which means you can only call on PCPs for the most part. This greatly reduces the numer of doctors you can call on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out how to retain new hires! Easier to try and make new employees productive so they will stick around, than to have a 6-12 month revolving door!

    Pros

Great culture of doing the right thing in business.
Executive team is very accessible to all employees throughout the company.
Amazing time-off policies (30 days, includes holidays, sick time, and vacation).
    Rapidly growing company.

    Cons

Difficult to move up if non-clinical.
Non-clinical staff seem limited in salary earnings.
Growth of corporate teams lag the growth of the company, resulting in overworked staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the corporate teams who support the rest of the company locations. Expand the teams or pay current staff according to the extra work they do.

I have been working at Encompass Home Health as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

I have been employed less than a year and have found the upper management support to be excellent. Very good training, classes, good scheduling, co-workers and office staff are genuinely caring and helpful. The charting program is user friendly and easy to navigate.

    Cons

This is not a "con" but home health requires that you be a self-starter and able to manage a daily patient schedule with little supervision. This is a great job for those who like autonomy in a work position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

EHH has a solid mission driven by principles of integrity and striving to provide a "Better Way to Care". Very good software for medical records and operations. Constant process improvement to provide home health care as efficiently and effectively as possible.

    Cons

Sometimes shoot themselves in the foot with attempts to stretch productivity of staff, with some moves that alienated staff and didn't feel fair. On a hard push for expansion which is evident by frugality taken a little too far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't believe anyone does home health as well as Encompass Home Health. Reassess to try to prevent management missteps that leave employees feeling unvalued.
