Pros
Good safe job. You deal with brokers all across Canada. Encon generally has a very good perception in the marketplace which makes it easier when promoting their products.
Cons
boring work and there is alot of it, they encourage underwriters to meet with broker; however, there is always a ton of work when you return to the office. Also, there isn't any incentive to meet brokers... no bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management
Bonus structure to promote incentive to write and retain business, also, bonuses for meeting with brokers, not just extra work for no extra money.
Pros
just to receive a pay check
Cons
managment is inmature, staff is very unprofessional, work loads are triple compared to the insurance industry around the city, little or no chance of advancement as people are hand picked for a job on length of employment but not based on competence. the Salary is low but most CSR roles are burden with work and are low paying. There is little opportunity to advance with formal training as there is no time or budget for this. Employees are nice but childish and this is due to the nature of the types of people who work here. Management cause most of the employees dissatisfaction.
Advice to Senior Management
Take management courses work openly with the staff, create better processes to stramline productivity. Allow the chance to work remotely. It will increase the amount of work being done..
