I have been working at EnerSys full-time

    Pros

Enersys strives on customer satisfaction and put out the best product and service.

    Cons

Top heavy company, takes a long time to get things done

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The bottom line is the only role yet loss of revenue is systematic because of small work force and multiple jobs into one position at smaller branches. Company tries to cut overhead instead of getting more business.

    Pros

Great company, good benefits and managers who do care for the people that work for or with them.

    Cons

Although the company takes great care protecting the health of its people you need to be aware you are working around lead.

    Age discrimination

I have been working at EnerSys

    Pros

A lot of ot due to all the driving you have to do !

    Cons

The mgrs discriminate against your age even if you can handle the work load , I worked for 4 months straight , I missed only one day and was told to hang in their that when a spot opened up I would be hired ! As soon as a position did open up they hired a friend if an employee with no experience and no time on the job just because he was young . Another temp was hired that was young and I was layed off a week later. It that's not age discrimination I don't know what is !!!

I have been working at EnerSys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great. Friendly co-workers. Extremely sucessful company. Work/life balance is good. They are very community driven. There is an activities commitee which organizes events outside the work place (holiday party, United Way kickoff, etc.)

    Cons

Pay is below average. Disconnect between departments. Vacation time could be better. I wish they were more open to telecommuting. The business is growing, but many of the departments are staying the same size.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your employees informed and included. Give them some incentive beyond compensation (more vacation time, telcommuting opportunities, etc.)

I have been working at EnerSys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Health benefits, Pay, decent coworkers

    Cons

Attendance policy is ludicrous. Points are given for staying home if you or your child is sick and your out of vacation. They treat new mothers horribly. If you decide to nurse your newborn they are totally unsupportable. If your pregnant they treat you like craps.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees have lives outside of this company. You want employees to work hard? Then treat them with common decency and respect.

I worked at EnerSys full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great college reimbursement. Great 401 K (100% up to 4% ) Decent pay for little education/experience.

    Cons

Working around hazardous substance (lead) limited upward mobility, lay offs annually. Management not visible on production floor. Don't feel company values employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value employees. Be visible and interactive with hourly employees. Make the Company a career not a stepping stone. Make the work have meaning and purpose...people are decently paid yet rarely smile.

    -hostile work environment of superiors
-inefficient training to do the job effectively

  10.

Competetive pay for fairly easy work. Varying work demand means normal layoffs year after year.

I have been working at EnerSys full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Pay, Great Benefits, Easy Work, Ability to make as much as someone that has worked there 20 years just walking in the door,

    Cons

yearly layoffs due to change in work demand,
upper management and HR seem to not care about effects of personal life in major company decisions,
HR and Upper Management WILL NOT do anything to a minority in fear of lawsuits. Many people who deliberately break rules or can not complete job duties are left alone due to those factors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

figure out how to man your busy season with a temp crew rather than lay off.
treat everyone the same regardless of minorities.

    I worked at EnerSys

    Pros

The product is decent and the service on the batteries is prompt when the customers are in need.

    Cons

Management is completely unprofessional, and talk down to you. They treat all employees as expendable and conflict within the branch is overwhelming. The product is manufactured to order and rarely is available on the determined date. They have different pricing based on the customer and often the loyal, larger customer pays more for the same product. Warranty issues are often blamed on the application and the customer is left to foot the bill.
