I have been working at Energizer Holdings as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

The environment is very laid-back, stress-free and the people are generally great to work with. Compared with some other places I've been, nobody here is "in your face" or jacked-up about any little thing that goes wrong. If something in a project or process goes wrong, the attitude is, "let's learn from this", it gets post-mortemed, and you get to learn from it.

    Cons

There are so many divisions and departments, it's hard to know when people are doing redundant work. I twice have had two or more people request the same tasks on the same project, although their requests came from completely different angles - and they did not seem to know that they were stepping on each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little less centralization, and more attention to the overseas offices would be fantastic.

Used to be great place to work, but lots of changes over the past few years have made for low morale.

I have been working at Energizer Holdings full-time

    Pros

Employees have the flexibility to work from home at times
    Management has open door policy
Salaries are at or above market

    Cons

Recent emphasis on cost cutting and growth of stock price, less concern for value of employees, resulting on loss of good talent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find some way to increase employee engagement, convince employees that the matter and the company is a good place to work

    Pros

    Cons

Driving to the office is a pain and how early you start, still you get delayed due to the traffic.

I have been working at Energizer Holdings

    Pros

Good benefits, salary and paid time off offering. Flexible work hours and telecommuting are offered if your manager is okay with it.

    Cons

Total focus on shareholder value and none on employee well-being. Since beginning a restructure/downsizing in 2012, there has been constant change, and the company is splitting on 7/1 so the change continues. Very little stability. Upper management has their head in the clouds and doesn't offer transparency to employees

I have been working at Energizer Holdings full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Work/Life balance is still fairly good.

    Cons

Senior leaders no longer practice the values they say are a hallmark of the company. Every decision is based on driving the stock price up to increase the wealth of Senior Executives. Promotions and selections are no longer based on ability or merit, but rather on relationships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your decisions over the past few years has destroyed a great company and a great culture. Start investing in your people and return to acting within the stated values. If you start now, maybe the 2 new companies will have a chance for a future.

I worked at Energizer Holdings full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work/Life balance and accommodations are great for those with families or in case of emergency.
The people are a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. "culture" is down the tubes.
The major products are declining categories and they're battening down the hatches. Upward movement is rare, as they favor lateral transitions, but both require heavy politicking and self-promotion.
Rewards and lack thereof come largely from perception vs performance

    I worked at Energizer Holdings

    Pros

Easier work load plenty of resources. Flexible schedule. Great people. Great products. Good processes in place. Good pay.

    Cons

Number one focus is the shareholders. No room for growth. Limited opportunities to be a leader. No investment in their employees. One way of doing things, not an embrace change culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your number one asset, the people.

I have been working at Energizer Holdings

    Pros

Really great people. Passionate folks that want to see the company succeed.

    Cons

Have given up on winning. Restructures and cuts are now too regular to ever settle in and have fun. Still a good old boy (white boy) company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to win or sell and let someone else try. Stop sucking the company dry for your own benefit.
