ProsLiving conditions were very nice and company offers many benefits for those that don't have them.

ConsPay was much less than what I thought it was going to be.

Advice to Senior ManagementMinimum of $3500 and plus ups every 2 weeks.

    It's a paycheck

    (Former Employee)

ProsSalary is fair and telecommuting is definite plus.

ConsPoor department leadership and weaknesses in management. Cannot trust management. Opportunities for advancement or advanced training are next to nothing or ignored even when requested.

Advice to Senior ManagementEliminate favortism for advancement within departments; encouragement for all interested to have opportunities to lead or become trained. New/recent grads with advanced degrees do not necessarily make good leaders or managers even though they look pretty in person or on paper.

    Pretty Okay,

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCompany is growing, seem to be a top provider in the market, have a clear vision and some smart people, operations people interfacing with the customer are great. Recruiting department has their act together - very helpful to support openings on contract side.

Conscompany has no diversity within top management (C-level), with the exception of HR they only have a couple of women in leadership roles and none at the top level. No raises, bonus', no 401K match and refuse to negotiate on benefits, leave etc. unless you are a top executive. Corporate support is non-existent with the exception of the Recruiting staff - they are fantastic. Every 6 months are are laying off the people they just promoted 6 months previously. They can't make up their mind how they want to divide the company for business units and it is frustrating when you don't know who is going to sign your time card.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop spending money on stupid corporate communications that people don't care about and send employees relevant information - company could save money by not USPS mailing out the same communications they email out to everyone! No one at corporate got a raise except a choice few - very demotivating and most of the people on contract did not get raises either unless there was a benefit for the company (ie - cost plus contract). Stop playing favorites - no one is perfect but give some people a chance to shine, you might just be surprised at the results - no one wants to come in to work and do a bad job.

    Great Fit!

    Program Manager (Current Employee)

ProsFlexible, able to do the job you were hired for, evolving, not static, good leadership, great people, love coming to work every, family oriented and very supportive, great opportunities exist

Conssalary on the low side, too much change for some, executive leadership lacks diversity: no women or non-whites

Advice to Senior ManagementGet more diversity and less homogenous and like-minded people. Always need someone who thinks a little differently to bring ideas to the table. See one vision out at a time. Change is good, but not every week.

    Horrible Company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Andover, MA

ProsAt least they tell you when you'll be let go.

ConsThey bought up a good company and are currently laying off everyone who knows the history of the accounts. They are planning to do this to other companies, too. They act before thinking things through. If you are not in Virginia, you are not safe in this company.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou are not helping the economy by buying up companies and laying everyone off.

    Terrible employer, wonderful employees

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe employees doing the work are wonderful and very good at their jobs. Many of them came to Engility with the hopes to further their careers and grow Engility. Those I have worked with are motivated, ethical, and care about being quality employees.

ConsI have worked for companies who have much smaller profit margins and still give better benefits. Engility claims to give wonderful benefits, but in practice the offer the bare minimum. In addition, the human resources team is petty and unresponsive. Good luck trying to get time off because regardless of whether or no you earned it they will somehow find a way to make sure you are penalized. No such thing as a work life balance or a respect for you as anything other than a profit generator.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease hire better trained human resources staff.
