  1. Great Place to Work

I have been working at Entegris full-time

    Pros

The people here really make this place amazing. It is a small company that quickly becomes a family when you get hired on. Everyone really cares about the work that they do and works together so the whole site is successful. The work is rewarding and it is very easy to have a direct impact on the success of the division as well as to implement needed changes quickly. If a suggestion is made from anyone that would be a benefit to the company, it is taken into consideration and implemented rapidly. There are no closed doors, and the director of the site is frequently on the manufacturing floor interacting with operators and listening to how things are going rather than just taking the manager's word for it. The management team here is very flexible and willing to let you try out new ideas so long as it will not run a customer out of material, or make the site miss their targets. The culture drives innovation and the R&D team constantly comes up with ingenious solutions to solve customer issues or concerns.

    Cons

The department sizes are small and the work load can get intensive during peak season.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the town hall meetings and keeping the employees informed on the direction of the business. The transparency is key to keeping everyone engaged in the future of the site.

I have been working at Entegris full-time

    Pros

I am happy with our department's director. The salary and paid time off are good, not to mention the cookouts, they are amazing. Flexibility in working schedule makes the "work/life balance" an easy experience. You can work from home in some occasions like in bad weather for example. A lot of friendly and professional employees in a professional environment. You can wear jeans everyday if you like and every employee gets a company laptop.

    Cons

In a chemical plant like this one some people don't take safety seriously. also, the building it's too small for the type of work that it's currently done. Hourly employees must clock in and out and have different PTO benefits than non-hourly employees. Sharing a cubicle with more than one person is a bad experience.

    Advice to Management

We can make this place a better place to work by improving safety and by widening the premises.

I have been working at Entegris full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good product lines, Lots of new and interesting technology in pipeline, Lots of employees have been there for a while which helps new employees improve their learning curve

    Cons

Lots of bureaucratic red-tape issues, people who have been with the company for a while seem to be unaware of the world outside the company. Words are valued more than actions. Not much time to work on real improvement projects as the mundane daily issues will use most of your time. Employees are over burdened with tasks while management is breathing over your neck.

    Advice to Management

Leave the company and join a few of other stable companies to see how the business environment has changed over the last decade or so. Restrain from creating a culture of backbiting and if you intend to set extreme timelines for the projects be prepared to recruit experienced employees from similar business sector to help project otherwise don't complain about quality of deliverable.

I worked at Entegris full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Overall - good culture, intelligent co workers, commitment to quality.

    Cons

lots of sales and product manager lifers that work only to protect their turf and commission/compensation. developing new products for new markets is very difficult and often considered as a threat to existing products. Upper mgmt is too beholden to quarterly earnings - strategy and vision is limited to small moves in semi market and limited to acquisitions - any other type of growth is limited as the company's inertia is heavy to change

    Advice to Management

create a career development path for employees to work from operations to product mgmt to sales.

Great benefits - 5 weeks annually for combined vacation / sick time and an environment where accountability is based on how you get things done.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Shareholders would benefit from a increased rate of innovation.
