I worked at Entegris full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Global company. Decent size for Global market. Typically #1 or 2 in their markets served.

    Cons

Customers are typically VERY large and put great pressure on organization. Ties mostly to semiconductor market that can have huge highs and extreme lows.

I worked at Entegris full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong core technology and excellent selection of products
    Very strong international presence
Many strong individuals with good technical know how.

    Cons

Departments are very isolated, lots of silo building
    Teamwork is practically non-existent.
Too much concern over the "next quarter's numbers", no long term plan
Rewards are not spread to all levels, the workers on the floor are considered interchangeable despite the extensive training needed for them to perform their jobs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Generate a vision for the company beyond the generic standard buzz words, and live the vision. There needs to be more connection between the upper management and the guys doing the work.

I worked at Entegris full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good location. Mostly good, loyal, long-term employees. Decent benefits. Worker-bee culture.

    Cons

Change and progression will never happen for Entegris because employees refuse it. No recognition for job well done. Managers micro-manage and clock-watch...don't ever think no one is watching your coming and going because they are. Intimidation and public humiliation are used daily thinking that's how results are best gotten. No trust or respect for workers. Open vacation policy is a joke - all that means is HR doesn't track it but managers do and that is worse. My advice...run away....do not work here. It is horrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs an overhaul. The rules need to be the same for everyone, not only apply to the favorites or the lifers. Engineering is the only department with decent, sensible, realistic people in it. Expectations of employees are unfair and unrealistic.

I worked at Entegris full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some excellent, hard working co-workers who are trying do their best despite the poor management team.

    Cons

The management team is one of the worst I have experienced during my career.
Management has very little understanding of their customer base (what they do, wants and needs).
Multiple product lines, each with different management teams and goals which may conflict with each other.
Inappropriate behavior during business meetings and via email is tolerated by management.
    Quality systems are lacking.
    Employee training is lacking.
Taking more than a few days of PTO is frowned upon. You are expected to be available by phone or email while on PTO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The board of directors needs to clean house and put a new management team in place.

I worked at Entegris full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are fantastic, dedicated people who have worked for this company for many years that genuinely care about the quality of the products they manufacture and customers they service.

    Cons

There was at least two tenured managers that inhibited creativity and believed in an autocratic style with little regard for their direct reports.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Believe in the individual and in the power of small teams and you will not be disappointed.
