    I have been working at Enterprise Information Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The people in this company care about their employees, but they won't coddle you. If you like to work hard and know what you want with respect to opportunities and working conditions, you can be happy here. You won't be asked to work 50+ hour weeks if you don't want to do so. If you want everything handed to you on a silver platter, look elsewhere. Customer satisfaction is held in the highest regard on annual reviews. Flexible working arrangements are available depending on contract limitations.

    Cons

    The company has recently grown to medium sized status and is experiencing some growing pains in infrastructure, but the staff all respond well to employee requests.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the customer first, but be more active in seeking advice on internal improvements from staff.

    I have been working at Enterprise Information Services full-time

    Pros

    EIS is a small, personal company which really looks out for its people. The size of the company enables easy access to senior company management and facilitates problem resolution.

    Cons

    Company travel highlights the size of the company. All travel is done on personal cards and reimbursed, which can be burdensome.

    Pros

    Great work life balance and the company has different events year round to maintain company culture and allows employees to network with other employees that may be on different government contracts.

    Cons

    Sometimes management isn't always communicative about the direction of the government contracts. Also, because the different tasks can be hectic it can be difficult to seek guidance on growing your own career as well.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to find ways to grow the company, but continue to work on fostering a positive environment for your employees growth as well.

    Pros

    Work-life balance, good coworkers, initially interesting work, fun company holiday parties, company is growing every year

    Cons

    Severely underpaid, upper management tend to believe the rules and policies are beneath them, not much room for growth once you hit your peak (which seems to come quickly)

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees. The good ones tend to leave pretty quickly for better opportunities. I understand this is a business, but living in the DC-metro area is not cheap, and for the work that is necessary to keep the company afloat, it is essential and cost-efficient to pay people what they are worth upfront.

    Great people on the front lines who are easy to work with and collaborate on projects

    Cons

    Morale suffers due to lack of positive leadership and direct feedback. Performance review system lacks correlation to established goals

    Advice to Management

    Need to provide regular feedback and clear direction to all employees. Ensure that all employees know where they stand on their performance and attainment of goals not just at performance review time. No surprises works both ways

    Pros

    first level management was very 'people' conscious ... human resources was the most cohesive group i've encountered ... big on training (not on their dime)

    Cons

    upper echelon very greedy, and not willing to pay fair wages ... absolutely languid employee retention (turnover rate entirely too high) ...

    Advice to Management

    don't be so greedy ... how much is enough, when almost everyone below VP and PM level are underpaid, and still affording you profits

    Pros

    Great opportunity to prove yourself and get rewarded for results. Not much management, oversight or direction, just have to figure out what’s needed and do it!

    Cons

    Benefits are provided, but employees need to kick in more and more for the basics. No training other than reimbursements for seminars and special needs.

    Advice to Management

    Need more IT embracing tools and technology. Databases and a knowledgebase would also help.

    Pros

    Compared to where I've worked in the past - can't think of one.

    Cons

    I really do not care for several of their policies. For one thing, if you are contracted to a government office, and they close for weather, holidays, etc - tough noogies, you're without pay or taking personal leave. Too many personal agendas; a new person coming aboard has to pull teeth to get support. Interviews leave out - shall we say - a whole lot of important information, like what the job really entails, and the length of the contract. It is not a terrible company to work for - but ask lots of questions, negotiate high on salary, and be prepared for surprises.

    Advice to Management

    A little more respect for your employees would be nice.

    I have been working at Enterprise Information Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Nice coworkers. No stress because of the government contracts. You can do as much or as little depending on your conciense.

    Cons

    Senior management has zero presence. Lower level management is a joke. Nobody cares about the client (including the client itself) and the work except the worker bees. No motivation. Heard no promotion either.
