    Pros

    Fantastic access to networks and resources while working overseas Good Salary & benefits. Great time off Very understanding & enabling management structure

    Cons

    Standard public sector problems, things can be slow to be completed. High performing employees can go unrewarded.

    Advice to Management

    Bring in private sector attitude depending on market you are working in. Start rewarding staff based on performance.

    Not much room for promotion due to downturn in economy & Government cut backs

    Plenty of opportunities; Good people on the whole

    Bureaucracy is maddening and always an excuse for it e.g. gov rules, EU rules etc Middle management very weak Plenty of 'pass the buck' activity

    Offers a very healthy salary with additional compensation for being posted abroad. Will meet companies from all over Ireland in a variety of sectors. Gives the ability to choose your own path and make a big impact.

    Cons

    Standard public sector problems: Some colleagues who've been in the same role for too long or aren't motivated or are being wasted. Budget cuts lead to more and more restrictions.

    Keep on going as you are. best Economic Development agency in town.
