Current Employee - Pipeline Controller  in  Houston, TX
Current Employee - Pipeline Controller in Houston, TX

    Pros

Leadership recognizes hard workers, rewards those who improve the overall systems and compensates well those who strive to make the company the best it can be.

    Cons

Downtown office can be political but there are lots of options. Operations in the field and in the control center do not have as many upward mobile positions and sometimes do not get as much credit as they deserve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always remember who is making the oil move and pay attention to those who are shift workers and putting their health on the line, continue to compensate them well when they are performing well.

Current Employee - Administrative Assistant in Houston, TX

    Pros

Benefits, salary is okay, convenient hours, family oriented environment offering flexibility, convenient accessibility to and from parking garage to building. Opportunity to show talents and demonstrate capabilities.

    Cons

Not everyone is a team player, there are a few employees who refuse to help others within their group and supervisors/managers refuse to address because employee has been with company for a long time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge the talents of those within your department and consider them for positions in your department they might be a better fit for. Employees want to feel acknowledged and appreciated, any pay raise that comes with a new position is greatly appreciated too.

    Pros

Fast-paced, friendly, professional, and hospitable towards interns. Pay was good and opportunities were not limited.

    Cons

Increasing bureaucracy, occasional competing interests from higher-ups

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to not micro-manage! Also, more emphasis on employee relations and company culture could help. Overall, I still had a good experience.

Former Employee - Pipeline Operator in North Little Rock, AR

    Pros

Pay and benefits competitive with industry, that's about it.

    Cons

Clueless management from supervisors up, employees not in management treated like disposable assets. Hourly employees harassed by managers and treated unfairly. Urged to backdate DOT documents to save supervisors rears, Give all credit for anything good to Supervisors, Give hourly employees all the blame for anything they perceive not good. Very unfair and questionable safety record. After announcing my retirement last Jan. Layed me off 2 months before my retirement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some real supervision in place and treat your hourlies like people.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Houston, TX

    Pros

Benefits are competitive with other like companies

    Cons

People are treated like a number

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was completely satisfied with my employment at Enterprise for the first 6 years and truly looked forward to retiring with the company. However, after many leadership changes in my area, I found myself having to change employers just to get away from the disappointing leadership. It was very evident (even overheard) that employee satisfaction was not a priority on the department heads list. Unfortunately my perception was shared by the majority in my group and even known by a TOP executive and nothing changed.
