Pros
Survival of the fittest. Throw a bunch of college grads together and see who makes it on top.
Cons
Work life balance. Long long hours. Wish I was hourly not salary. Can get burnt out easily.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop letting your branches be understaffed. Three people cannot run an 180 car branch. If you can't get any new MT's, then help out at the branch.
Pros
You build a great network with all the MT's, MA's, Assistant Managers and Branch Managers.
Cons
Promotions are based on "performance" but it by far is one of the most political based companies I have seen, if you are not constantly being a politician don't think your going to get promoted.
Advice to Senior Management
More streamline communication between RVP through branch personnel
Pros
great people to work with
meet lots of customers/people
Cons
management doesn't care about you
long hours
no support
Advice to Senior Management
work/life balance
Pros
Enterprise offers very busy days, If your good at sales there is lots of room for advancement, Lots of after work fun paid for by Uncle Enterprise
Cons
Long hours, Forced to sell things that really don't have lots of value, Only reviewd and compensated on how you sell protection packages
Pros
Vacation-great if you get to a level 2 or higher and there are tons of days off-unfortunately you don't have the time to take them
Benefits-good/cheap
Car-discount to drive the vehicles home every day without having to replace the gas
Cons
Hours-work from 745am till 615pm Mon-Fri/845am-1230pm Sat-some people want to complain why we are not open later or on Sundays when they come in on Saturday at 1158am with no reservation
You wear a suit to work to have to clean cars and get it messed up
In the summer you are burning hot because you are in a full business suit and in the winter you are stepping in piles of snow to check people in cars
The customers have no respect for you. They think we didn't go to school for 4+ years and it is ok to speak/curse to us in any manner. Most of our customers can barely keep a roof over their heads and they degrade us to make themselves feel better.
Advice to Senior Management
If something is done wrong, they are quick to hand out a Memo. If something goes right, you don't get anything.
Pros
Many companies know Enterprise for its training and will recruit you out of Enterprise. Also, you have many corporate customers that you can market, giving you the chance to get out!
Cons
Enterprise just went through all of the bonuses for commissioned employees and reduced their commission percentages because "costs are going down," which means the company is going to be saving money, and they are going to pay their employees less so they will make more money for their pockets.
Advice to Senior Management
You talk the talk about putting employees first, but you have to walk the walk.
Pros
To build your resume.
To receive quality training on the daily functions of a business.
To begin your sales career with a known company.
Cons
Lunch hours aren't always guaranteed.
Long Hours.
Advice to Senior Management
The happiness of your staff determines it's success. Really try to open the communication lines up with your employees and find out what is important to them and what would make them happy. Not every employee is satisfied with a free lunch.
Pros
It's a steady job that you can come into and work right out of school. It also teaches you how to be a professional, work with customers, and eventually how to manage a business with your bottom line in mind.
Cons
You work way too many hours for the compensation. There were many times that you would go weeks withouth actually being able to take time for yourself for a lunch break. They would expect you to eat while working. There is a very high level of stress because most branches are severly understaffed. Most importantly, if you did not work at one of the main revenue generating branches (i.e. a branch that is just naturally busy regardless of who is managing) then you were an afterthought to the upper management.
Advice to Senior Management
Take more consideration for what the majority of your employees tell you because they want the best for all employees.
Pros
There are great opportunities for promotion and movement to other areas of the company, and one learns a lot about running all aspects of a business. The benefits package is comprehensive and since the paychecks are comprised of salary and commission, you are in control of your own paycheck. There are some of the most intellegent and insightful people working for Enterprise
Cons
Also, the salary plus commission is not what is implied. There hours in daily rental are long and often require early mornings and late nights. For example, while there is much transparency in the interviews and through the hiring process, you are told that working hours are 8-6, when that is just the branch operating hours, and you must be in the office early to open and later than 6 )or 8-9 for some offices) to close up.
Advice to Senior Management
Enterprise often states that work life balance is important, but is very difficult for employees in daily rental to acheive with the hours worked.
