I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Learn a lot about the industry. Great company to learn how to really sale and being a manager. Also gain a ton of entrepreneurial skills. A lot of people who leave enterprise tend to start their own business.

    Cons

Tons of hours. No work life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting people who only been with the company six months. Make them work for it. What happens is these people (females) get promoted and half the time have absolutely no idea of what they are doing after they get promoted.

There are some days when there isn't much to do and some days you are super busy
Management is the best anyone can ask for, everyone is so nice and flexible

    Cons

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great experience right out of college. Great co-workers, for the most part! Great for you resume.

    Cons

Once you become a manager it is highly unlikely you will move up any further and will work twice as hard. LONG hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work harder and get promoted, so others can too.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The higher up you get the better you're treated and you wouldn't believe the amount of commission some of these Branch Managers get.

    Cons

Requires a college degree to do a job I could have done in 9th grade. Basically expects you to "trick" a customer into getting insurance thru them even though they already pay more than enough for their own. They tell you in the interview it will be 40-45 hours a week....yeah I was working over 50 EVERY SINGLE WEEK. The pay sucks. Like really bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't make it a requirement for people to dress up then go wash and vacuum out a car. And don't make people work 11 hours a day with no choice.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will work with great, young people and young assistant managers and branch managers. They make up for the long hours and low pay

    Cons

The work day is long and weekend work is mandatory, don't make weekend plans. Dealing with less than satisfied customers is exhausting and they have no regard for you as a person

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to get promoted quickly if you can produce the numbers. Pay is fair, you do have some direct control over your commissions. Worked with wonderful people that I consider life long friends now, even though I am no longer with the company.

    Cons

Extremely long hours, terrible work life balance. Seniority not really a consideration- after 4 years (3+ in management roles) with the company, hit a rocky patch, was given written warning, and was let go within 3 weeks, without a second thought.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't use threats as a motivational tool, try actually coaching and managing your employees.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Can make a lot of money based on sales.
Company will back you up in a lot of situations.
    Contests for more incentive.

    Cons

Customers get what they want by how loud they complain.
Work over 50 hrs a week.
    Not much work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shortening the hours by even 5 hours a week would vastly improve morale.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Lots of room for advancement
Opportunity to make a lot in commission
They hire people with the same personality, so everyone tends to be good friends. (People fresh out of college that like to "go out")
Looks very good on your resume. Once I became a manager, I was always getting job offers.

    Cons

    Hours
-New hires work on average 46 hours a week
    -Assistant Managers Work around 52
    -Managers work around 60
If you calculate our your pay vs. hours, you actually make very little
    Very Political for promotions
    Very Stressful
Customers are always yelling at you and you have to take it with a smile
Very little support from upper management
Always low moral and people openly talking about looking for a new job
The average tenure in about 2 years
Extremely hard to get above Branch Manager level

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember what it was like to work at the branch level.
Worry less about numbers and support your employees on a day to day level.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The longer you stick with it, the more it pays off; the hard work you put in today will pay off if you keep going. If you live the core values, it's really a refreshing career.

    Cons

People within the company who will do whatever it takes to succeed, even if what-it-takes at the time is unscrupulous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow BRMs more autonomy in determining appropriate staffing levels for part timers (it's my pay check too!)
