    Pros

Great team atmosphere. The people you work with are great. Everyone shares the same mission and is willing to help.

    Cons

10 hours of day of customer service. Quite a few of the customers can be a pain and have unrealistic expectations for a rental car. Customers will take their frustrations out on you like it's your fault their insurance is only willing to pay for a small rental vehicle. Not a great work life balance.

    Pros

don't have to deal with managers much, sad, but that's the best thing so far...
Company holiday party = corporate meat market bar scene, very entertaining

    Cons

Non manager working conditions can be hazardous, nothing will get done until some one gets injured.
Speaking up about suspect conduct and treatment, and concerns will get you an express ticket to a miserable working environment. Keep quiet and look the other way, but keep notes just to CYA.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to ask questions, no one knows everything, and those that claim they do, know even less. RESPECT your employees, don't lie, and most of all be human ! You'll get much more respect and commitment from your workers if you do.

Current Employee - Management Trainee in Salisbury, MD

    Pros

Good pay for out of college, and a great amount of experience. The people you meet and communicate with on a regular basis help a large amount.

    Cons

hours are ridiculous, they also don't seem to help out for your commute. They put you in the office they think will help their revenue or customer service scores the most. They don't really seem to care that you have to drive very far. Pay is low for the amount of hours, although you can't complain if its your first job out of college

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotions come from sales, from my experience they seem to promote the people who don't worry about learning the business process but who ever sells the most. In the long run those people who sell do get a better grasp but it effects the management quality in my opinion at the branch levels.

Current Employee - Driver in Los Angeles, CA

    Pros

The work-life balance is great. This driver position is only three days a week. If you want just a part-time gig, this is ideal for you.

    Cons

There is a system that they use, same as Federal Express, it is called Paragon. It has the times of arrival as a guideline of arrivals to locations. The people that are assigned to pick you up sometimes run very late, and you are stuck at a location without any alternatives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a little bit more heart when it comes to the wages, one quarter of a dollar for a raise is not beneficial. Get with the Union, like Alamo and National. Treat the employees better.

There are plenty of social/networking events, you are able to advance your career as fast or as slow as you'd like. There are many different business mixes for you to find your niche . Everything you do is involved with teamwork. There are great people all around.

    Cons

There is almost no work life balance in rental at least. Work too many hrs and not enough pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find more opportunities for employees to have more of a life. Other than that i think the company is great.

Great opportunity to for career advancement within the company. They are constantly promoting employees, and only promote from within. The people who work there all have outgoing personalities, and are very nice. Company values are strong and respectful.

    Cons

Time demanding, which may conflict with personal goals outside the workplace i.e. going out and hanging with friends, traveling, etc.

    Pros

While at Enterprise you do learn very useful business skills and how to run a branch quickly. There are people in the business with good tips and tricks on sales. Mostly you will realize the reason you stay with Enterprise is the people. My coworkers at every branch I was placed were the reason I stayed with Enterprise as long as I did. Now that I have left and are applying for other jobs, employers have been commending me for working at Enterprise because

    Cons

You are thrown into the job without proper training. The phones ring constantly and there is always in influx of customers to where you are never able to ask management questions and you end up getting yelled at. Managers would up and leave the branch several times a week, sometimes without anything but a 5 minute notice. Lunch break? Forget it..learn to eat your lunch while scrubbing a car in 100 degree weather in business clothes. Work life balance is a joke!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make time for your employees to leave out half the day every week! The rare times I knew I was able to during the week motivated me more. I understand situations come up where you may need to leave the branch without much notice, but when it becomes a regular event you upset everyone in the office..want to keep good ESQI? Maybe make the people who are dealing with the customers happy too.
