I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great training, great at providing opportunities to learn a business and run independently. You get to make a lot of decisions yourself that directly impact your branch. AWESOME people. You will have fun with anybody on your team, everyone is outgoing, charismatic, and wants to "work hard play harder". Direct career path, and lots of room for advancement immediately. You can get 1st promotion 8 months if you're focused. People want you to get promoted because it looks good on them to train you up in the company. Benefits - Vacation days, healthcare, 401K, drive a company car as a Branch Manager and above.

    Cons

Customers are awful and demanding. Get ready to explain the difference between a debit card vs credit card about 50 times per day. Reallllly long hours, but they pay competitively and give automatic raises every fiscal year.

    Pros

They teach you everything you needed to know to run a business (AR, bad debt, inventory management, customer service, employee engagement, leadership).

    Cons

They work you long hours and expect 49 hours/week, but its probably more than that on average Employees are only promoted through their sales numbers. They'll hire any college grad knowing that the turnover is high.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company promotes from within and that is what happens. It's nice that they reward hard work versus seniority but depending on the branch you are at it can be difficult to sell well. I was told during the interview process that I'd want to quit several times during the first year and I did. If you can handle the long hours, working in harsh weather conditions, and adequate pay at first then Enterprise could be a good place to work.

    Cons

Very long hours and crappy work life balance is the norm. Some managers are understanding when it comes to that but many are not. The technology sucks at home city locations and understaffing is a norm, too. Pay is what is until you can promote up and even then you have to get above branch manager to fo really well

    Advice to Management

Invest in decent technology and quit running the fleet size so tight. You're not the ones who have to tell the customer we're out of cars or our computers are down. A little better profit sharing or some commission would nice
