    I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

    Pros

The people are great. Everyone is pretty similar but shows passion, drive, and competitiveness. You work a lot of hours so having great people around you makes the day go a lot more smooth. You can get promoted very quickly if you perform at a high level and really push yourself.

    Cons

Work life balance does not exist if you work in a seven day operation. Someone is always out to get you. The company lets go of a lot of good people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work harder to keep your people.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

    Pros

Enterprise management program looks great on a resume. The recent pay increase is now competitive for entry level work. You will gain a lot of transferable skills for future jobs

    Cons

Long long long hours. 10-11 hrs per day. Washing cars and checking in customers in heat/cold/rain/snow. Customers are sometimes bullish. Not a lot of opportunities outside of rental management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up more career paths than just rental management

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I liked working in a team environment scenario and I think it is nice that they promote throughout the company so there is a lot of room for advancement and promotions once hired at an entry level position.

    Cons

I think the interview process was very long especially having to take time out of 3 separate days to do three different interviews. It is very time consuming and stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Less interviews

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

    Pros

Moving up the latter to one day be a branch and then area manager. They recently gave all employees a base salary pay raise.

    Cons

With the base salary higher the commission were lowered monthly. Long hours and with the high turnover it means you work harder and longer. If issues goes to upper management they always side with customer and not the employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always back your employees up, the customer is not always right, be more flexible with schedule and keep staff evenly distributed between your area.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I interned with Enterprise when I was a Junior in college. The management trainee program gave me the opportunity to see how a branch would be run and taught me professional skills that you can't learn in a classroom setting. I met some great people there as well.

    Cons

Essentially, you're just expected to sell insurance to customers and if you don't do a good job of it, you're not offered a full time job. There wasn't as much opportunity to actually learn how to manage a branch as I would have liked and the employee dissatisfaction with the company as a whole is evident. Many of my coworkers (I went through three different branch managers and 5 other employees leaving the company in 3 months) were unhappy with the workload, lack of work-life balance, and high turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on the development of your sales people as a whole, not just their ability to push insurance on each customer. There are many other ways an employee can be successful at a company.

    Pros

    Developed a stronger business sense.
    Driving various new cars.

    Cons

No work-life balance since you most likely have to work Saturday (and now possibly Sunday). If upper management likes you they'll promote you regardless of your performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The corporate structure is outdated. Get in touch with your employees.
