Senior Account Manager (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsThe flow of communication has improved over the past few years.

ConsIt can be difficult to advance your skill set if your client base is limited (doesn't engage outside of standard email best practices or has limited budget).

Creative (Former Employee) New York, NY

Pros-you'll meet a few nice people
    -free lunch on Fridays

    Cons-lack of initial training
-lack of organization on the part of the management
-tell you that it's a 9-5 job but you're working overtime all the time (evenings and weekends)
-poor communication from management; no managment
-often expected to do things without being provided a deadline, without being provided proper documents, without any direction (you're expected to magically figure out what is expected of you)
-everyone around is dissatisfied and miserable and only work for the pay-check

    Good company

Campaign Management Specialist (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsIt has a great culure. Very relaxed environment (e.g., everyone takes a lunch, plays board games, talks to each other, goes out for happy hour, etc.). Most people leave at 5, 5:30. I liked everything about it pretty much.

Consnot a lot of room for growth
very technical position which i wasn't prepared for

    Black Hole

Senior Account Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

Pros--Very good overall benefits package compared to other companies
--Work from home flexibility and autonomy around work schedules

Cons--Single biggest problem: Not a client centric culture rather a bunch individuals, not teams, in which everyone says 'I can't help you with that, it's not my responsibility'
--Invisible leadership presence in New York office
--No opportunity for face time with senior management equals no chance of promotion
--If you don't know how to play the political game there is no chance of promotion
--Technical Project managers who aren't project managers, nor are technical.
--Very junior staff in line manager roles who are in way over their heads.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize talent when it's in front of you, not after the're gone.
Recruit some client and employee centric leadership that can build agile teams that get things done for clients instead of continually failing the client.

    Awful. Just Awful.

Senior BSA (Current Employee) New York, NY

    ProsThey are flexible.
You don't need to worry when they announce a policy change because if you wait ten minutes there will be another one to cancel it out.
    People appear to be friendly.

ConsSomeone mentioned that their software is state of the art. So was my eight track. The software is very limited and is constantly breaking down.
They are dangerously understaffed and are looking to cut the staff down even more. They also off shore most of their work.
Account teams over promise the client on deliverables and expect the technical team to work miracles to make it happen, and they are never satisfied.
Like I mentioned they are understaffed so they over-load you with work and could care less if you are able to meet deadlines.
They recently announced there soaring profits. Well this wasn't hard to accomplish. It's easy to show record profits when you down-staff and off-shore, expecting those who are left to do more with much much less, while at the same time continue to charge your clients the same amount of money.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in talent within the company. Hire more people and stop spreading your employees so thin.

Experience is dependent on which team/client you work for

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsGreat work/life balance. Had to work late early on in my career at Epsilon..but otherwise, was able to work from home or leave early as needed.

Cons-Pay was too low by industry standards
-On my team, it was a boys club...you were promoted/recognized/hired based on your ability to cater to certain senior members
-Lack of development and investment in employees
-Lots of apathy by certain team members

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at why certain team members get promoted why others are not or let go..you may see a pattern in favortism and unjust practices at play.

Friendly Company in a Weak Parent Company

Account Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsEpsilon has a very flexible PTO, a relaxed environment, and good health benefits. They tend to be flexible with personal days, vacations and sick days and people there are friendly regardless of the challenges.

ConsThe problems with the company are the pay cut, the summer layoffs that happen almost every summer, and almost no hardware updates that frustrates the hell out of clients. It was really awful to find out some people in different places were randomly laid off even though they put overtime to solve problems and were generally liked by the client.

Advice to Senior ManagementSenior management needs to be more upfront about challenges instead of trying to whitewash issues. Talk of new accounts doesn't add up when when there is turnover and loss of office space.

    AVOID Epsilon

Account Services (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsThe name is well recognized by future employers. Work with world class brands. Not much else to say that is good.

ConsExtreme turnover! The entire account mgt team turned over while I was there. Every week 2 or 3 new people left. The company has an impressive list of clients but even their list of clients has diminished quickly after the Double Click acquisition. The Senior Management team has plenty of negative issues as well.

Make sure you cover a job description with them from A to Z... They misrepresent roles often which cause a lot of internal frustration. The environment is filled with people who realize what a mistake they made joining Epsilon, misery does love company. At least you'll make some new friends.

Advice to Senior ManagementKnow your clients needs better AND don't lie to your staff about the direction of the company. Lots of smoke and mirrors here.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
